You’ve got to finish strong.
There are no two ways around it. You could give the greatest speech in the world. But if you end it on a low note, people aren’t going to buy anything from you.
Your conclusion is everything when you’re speaking. It’s the final push that inspires somebody to take action.
So why aren’t you focusing on yours?
The good news is that you can fix this problem. All it takes is making a few tweaks to the end of your speech so you get more clients from speaking.
Tip #1 – Always End With a Call to Action
This is one of the basics, but it’s something that many speakers struggle with.
You can’t allow your audience to walk away feeling confused about what you want them to do.
Your call to action (CTA) is where you tell them.
Do you want them to buy a package from you? If so, finish by talking about all the awesome things they’ll get when they buy.
Craft a story around your CTA. Show why it’s valuable to the audience. Then, be concise when telling the audience what to do next.
Tip #2 – Make Them Feel Something
Emotion is one of the most powerful tools that you have as a speaker. If you make your audience feel something, you’re one step closer to getting more clients.
What you make them feel is up to you.
Maybe you want to use a dash of fear to make people think they have to sign up with you right now.
Perhaps you want to make them laugh so they feel a closer bond with your brand.
Whatever it is, you have to take advantage of emotion in your conclusion.
Tip #3 – Don’t Just Wind it Down
Don’t leave any doubt about where the speech ends in your audience’s minds.
Something vague like “that should cover everything” isn’t inspiring. You want something solid that’s a clear signal to everyone that the speech is over.
No-one’s going to remember a vague closing line.
